Sky+ Storage poblem

    Hi all,

wondering if someone could give me some advice on this.

I was trying to record some programs the other night, and it only recorded the first 13 minutes of Battlestar Galactica, cause it ran out of space, or so it seems. However, without deleting anything off the box, there was still 49% remaining, according to the screen stats. I have since watched a few of the things i had recorded, and deleted stuff i had watched, now i no programs recorded on the box (but i do have some set to be recorded) and its saying I only have 71% freespace - this has to be wrong.

Is the Sky+ box screwed? Do i need a new one? I only got the Sky+ box in July/August.

From what I've read, the Sky+ box only allows you access half the disk. The other half is reserved for another service which Sky have yet to launch.
I could (very easily) be wrong about that.

previously though, it was said 100% when nothing was on it, or 90% et cetra, its only in the last couple of days i have noticed the storage stat being seemingly inaccurate, and causing me problems as a result.

    Try a planner rebuild:

Services 4 0 1 Select then choose planner rebuild - be careful that you don't accidentally select the full system reset as it wipes all your recordings:eek:

what to do if that option is not there? If i go to services, 4 is system setup, then 0 does nothing.

5 is Sky+ Setup, but again, 0 does nothing.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Press the services button, followed by the 0 button, then the 1 button followed by the select button. This gets you into the Installer Setup menu:

    Hope this helps

Don't mind the buttons or what's on screen,

Press in this order... Services, 4, 0, 1 and select. And you get the screen like what digitaldr posted.

i'll try it again tonight, but i am positive going to services, then pressing 4, 0, 1, does absolutely nothing for me. I'll try it without pressing 4 as digitaldr says above.

I think digitaldr missed the 4 step there....

Honestly, its the button sequence thats the key here.
    Services, 4, 0, 1, Select

definately didn't work. dunno why. have tried it a number of times now. no matter how quickly i press the buttons, it just selects option 4 then 1, hitting zero did absolutely nothing.

what the hell is wrong with my digi box!?

Ok... when you press 0 in the sequence, nothing happens on screen. This is expected. Don't stop at 0, follow through, complete the line.

i did that, and it just selected option 1 on the screen.

got it fixed, just turned the box off, for the third time, and now its showing 98%, don't know why it didn't work the previous two times. 3rd times the charm i suppose.

Still confused as to why i can't get the installer screen up though. Oh well, i suppose that will be a problem for another day.
