Who is going, for how long, where are you staying, which events or just cash games etc etc

For guys that went last year, what is the best way to find a house to rent for a few guys for june and july?


I personally want to go out for 2 whole months, get a house with guys either from here or 2+2 and hit up some fish infested cash games. dont have much intention of playing any WSOP events unless i satellite in easy or just cant resist

Im planning on heading to California in May, onto Vegas for 2 months in June for mainly cash games, am up for sharing a house, we failed to get one last year, looked as if we were about to get ripped off so we backed out.

Ocallagh did all the looking, should be able to get better advice on 2+2. Think theres a few on here looking to head over in June so should be able to get a house between us. I did a month in the Flamingo last year which worked out cheap enough but worth getting a house just for wireless. $13 for 24hrs in the hotels is a bit of a ripoff.

apparently they are the best cash games anywhere in the world, i would well believe it too

Youll find cash games to play but no donkaments.

If i can be confident of getting into the cash games then I'd be up for going, other than the me "lol donkaments" don't interest me tbh.

Just get a fake drivers license., worked for me. Don't play in any tourneys though.

i'll be in vegas for the main event and probably a week or so before it too..
i'm planning on staying in the rio so that i can have a nap during the dinner breaks,although i haven't booked anything yet.

Something like 25th June to 15th July.

Probably will stay in the Rio for the ME but will stay in Bellagio or Palms for the rest of the stay.

For those heading with the intention of playing cash mostly you should know that the lists everywhere are enormous, expect to wait at least an hour and a half or more for a game in the Bellagio or the Rio. Caesars about 30 - 45 mins and same in MGM.

i've never done it but i gather if you introduce yourself to the floor manager when you arrive and slip him a tenner you'll get a seat in most of the cash games a lot quicker than if you hadn't

I tried this one day in the Bellagio and he took my money and said take a seat at the bar hed come get me in 10mins once the others at the desk left, 45 mins later I left feeling like I got rolled like the tourist I was lol.

Im sure this would work most places though.

like in former soviet countries where both teams have to bribe the ref,so they end up paying for a fair match

I obviously wasnt balla enough, when I gave him the ten he looked at me as if I just p1issed on his mothers grave, Im guessing the going rate there is a little higher.

Caesars was the best place for cash last year - loads of tables, tournaments bringing extra players in, kept opening new games. 1/2NL capped at 500, 2/5NL uncapped. Waiting lists werent bad and normally other game available/ get name on list go for food.

Bellagio was packed and the 2/5 wasnt a great game, Rio, terrible organisation, no security, wouldnt have felt safe leaving chips on table.

Not sure tbh, if you become a regular anywhere you should be looked after but probably be more games going in the Rio.

Heading out to vegas on 3rd June for 11 nights. Initially was going to play in event #15..the $1500...but am staying clear of it now as its only a 1500 starting stack.
Am staying where I stayed 2years ago..in the Plaza which I found grand. Hope to play in alot of soft cash games (as there are loads to be found out there).
Would like to meet up with any other boardies that are out there during that time.

Vegas is pure class...no matter what people's impressions are of it, it still is the kingdom for poker players.

Haven't sorted out my plans fully yet but plan to head to the month of July I think.

5/10 and 10/20 had the longest lists of all in the Rio and Bellagio.

You will get a 5/10 game from my limited experience in Caesars within 45mins. There arent as many casinos spreading poker as you would imagine and there are only a handful spreading 5/10 and up, but the 2/5 game in Caesars runs 3 or 4 tables all the time and the game plays big enough. The good games are in the Rio but personally I couldnt be arsed with wait lists that are hours long.

There was a 5/10 capped game at Bellagio last year but it was the game with the longest list and the 10/20 uncapped played ridiculously big in the bellagio most people playing about 15k+

i'm positive i'm going, i just haven't thought about it. dont like the idea of staying in a hotel again.. think i'll find a cheap house/apt away from the strip and rent a car for the month. If I make it through Day 1 I'll move into the Rio.

here is an idea for all going out there

1, start a thread of best available flights, hotel deals etc

2, and probably more important, lets arrange a drop zone or regular meeting point for all Irish players,

a drop zone could be like a notice board / message point in a particular hotel, I'm sure any hotel front of house manager worth his salt would see the benefit and get on board

now rthat i start this i just had another idea, i'll contact a hotel of some decent quality and see if they want loads of Irish business and post it on a new thread if they offer us a special deal

Heading on the 27th June for 3 weeks and in Ballys for the whole time. I hit 36 on the 6th of July and I hope my fellow boardsies will be willing to forego the poker for one night to get seriously drunk, preferably in the same drink emporium as myself

Very cheapest you'll get is $30 a night, bit more at weekends.

Im looking at houses at the moment for June if you're interested. Should work out around 800-1000$ each for a 4 or 5 bedroom place. 3 confirmed so far.
