    Hi all!
Just a quick hello to you all, I live just outside Dundalk and have followed airsoft for years; what I mean by that is that I have envied all other nations that have had airsoft running for decades and always hoped for a time like this when it was legalised in Ireland.

I was searching for more information on the legalisation of the sport a few months back and Boards.ie seems to amongst the largest of the online communities along with the likes of airsoftireland.com.

Anyways, I just thought i'd post to let you's know you have one more keen interested member toward the airsoft cause, i'm up in DKIT doing my BSc so don't have time to play at the moment, but come the summer i'd love to start playing regularly.

I have been following airsoft gun releases since 2001ish and currently own some crappy springers including a TM Beretta M9, and a Colt National Match .45 but in the last few years i've aquired a KSC USP .45 full size and a very special, very expensive Western Arms 1911 A1 .45 kitted out in full gold as seen in Face/Off, I plan on getting some dragon grips for it soon.
(Can never seem to find cursed winter gas for them!).

Anyways, hi to everyone again, you all seem like a right laugh, i've been reading for a while. Hope to get my hands on a full metal Classic Army MP5 A2 with SEF trigger group to match my SWAT vest, roll on the summer!

    :D

Thanks for popping in, hopefully you'll be a regular poster, and hopefully you'll come to HRTA during the summer so I can pump some BBs into you ;)

Hello and welcome. Have a search here for Derek from BFSL he sells gas from time to time. There should be a mobile number knocking around for him.

    Try www.ballymountfs.com for gas.

Thats BFSL in case you didnt know and the number is in the Contact Us section

Love the gold 1911. im very tempted to buy a pair but im staying away from pistols for the moment but as CQB has started in dublin i'm looking into them again.

Where you getting the dragon grips from?

    Hey Spitfire.

There are black grips with raised chinese golden dragons on them on ebay, they go for about €50 shipped. They're meant for a real 1911A1, but they fit the Western Arms 1911s.

I wanted to get two, but I got stung with customs and ended up paying over €320 for just one pistol, so you can see why I haven't got another yet, if ever!

Thanks for the welcomes and the gas info too. ;)

Where did you get them from that it cost that much?????
Im gonna try UNCompany again when i buy and see if i get away with customs again. it'll work out cheaper the ehobby as im gonna buy two guns and about 6mags together.

Hey, welcome to the forum! :0

320 euro?!!?!?!? That's €60 more expensive then my Tokyo Marui AEG with all its bits and pieces. Insanity.

Didnt somebody else buy one a few weeks ago? who was it? i wanted to get a look at it but never got the chance.

Tell me about it, i got it shipped to the North before I knew it was legalised down here. Came from Redwolf, got some bbs and silicon spray too.

Without the customs and the rest, it would have been about €230.
It was either that or a full metal Glock 18C with extra 49 round mag. I should have got the Glock!

Like i said above, i'm looking at getting a Classic Army MP5 A2 with SEF trigger group from vipershop with battery, charger and 3 spare mags for at least €450. This sport is looking expensive!

    (I like nice kit :D)

no way, the glock is great but the 1911 is better. Its gold for cryin out loud.
If its good enough for Nicolas Cage its good enough for us.

I like your thinking! There's nothing like it, but for $270 I would have liked a metal slide and barrel at least, but I suppose its too difficult in colouring metal gold.

EDIT: The barrel is metal, lol.

Am i right in saying the barrel is black on that one?

They are pricey alright but once you've got two it'd be worth it.

Yuppers, the barrel is black, its also got compensator holes towards the muzzel that show through the ported slide as you can see in the pic, just like Castor Troys! The only things that distinguish the gun from the one in Face/Off is the lack of "Springfield Armoury" engraving on the right side of the slide, and the little "Custom" engraving on both sides of the slide. And of course the grips, which are easily replaced.

Metal parts include the inner and outer barrel, slide guide rod, front sight, windage rear sight, trigger, slide release, mag eject, hammer, ambi-safety, rear grip safety, part of the grip and of course a full metal mag. Lovely piece.

    :)
