Hi, I'm purchasing a new laptop for someone who just requires the basic functions. e.g. net surfing, MS office, and dvd burning options. The cheapest on the dell site is the Inspiron 1501 for €469. Adding a DVD RW drive brings it up to €517. Do ye think this is a good purchase? D>

I think it's an excellent purchase for the price. You be hard pressed to find a machine elsewhere for the same price that offers the same performance.
