Ok , my 406 just seems to be cutting out for no reason whatsoever..i.e driving along and all the dash lights come on , steering goes and have to then turn the key to restart again . or coming to a stop when I put in the clutch it just dies again..Anyone ever heard of this before and any solution would be most welcome .

Sounds like a sensor problem. No point in guessing - get a diagnosis check done to try and pin-point the fault.

ya that seems to be a common problem withs 406's. It happens my dad's car once or twice a year but the car cures itself after a while! It shouldn't last too long, 406's have a habit of fixing themselves!

I’ve a 99 reg 406 HDI about 1 year now and it has cut out on my twice for no reason in that time! First time i just played with the fuses in the fuse box under the bonnet and the second time i pressed the fuel cut-off button under the bonnet. Seems to be some sort of electrical problem that 406's suffer from. My left indicator comes to life every now and then all by its self also!!!!
