    CATHAL COUGHLAN: IRELAND SHOWS MARCH

    Cathal Coughlan Solo:
Cyprus Avenue, Cork, Thursday 22 March.
The Rosin Dubh, Galway, Friday 23 March.
Courthouse Arts Centre, Wicklow, Saturday 24th March.

Cathal Coughlan & Grand Necropolitan Sextet:
    Foburg > Flannery's Mounted Head
The Sugar Club, Sunday 25th March

“His fourth solo work overflows with the kind of pop nous that today's practitioners would sell their vocal cords for. Foburg remains a quality piece of work, musically and lyrically eloquent, provocative and intrepid” Tony Clayton Lea, The Irish Times

Note Productions is delighted to announce the first concert in its new occasional series of new work.

Cathal Coughlan returns to Dublin’s Vicar Stret to present one performance of his evolving song-cycle Flannery’s Mounted Head > Foburg on Sunday 26th November.

The concert follows the release of the former Microdisney and Fatima Mansions singers acclaimed fourth solo album Foburg (Beneath Music). The release is loosely based on this song cycle and described by Coughlan as 'unreliable narrative of architectural plastic surgery'. This latest work is reminiscent of both Coughlan’s previous solo albums and his confrontational Fatima Mansions shows. This will be the only performance of the piece in 2006...

Cathal Coughlan is a key figure in Irish music having been lead singer in the acclaimed Cork group Microdisney. He later went to form the raucous and controversial Fatima Mansions. Over the last number of years Coughlan has turned his attention to the release of three albums of solo material: Grand Necropolitan, Black River Falls and The Sky’s Awful Blue.
