saying that my "complimentary warranty"(3months" is up and if i dont buy applecare for 2 years today all my support etc is gone and ill be charged for calls and repairs?

thought this was a year?, if somthing goes wrong im comfortable replacing it myself but shouldnt apple still have to pay for it?

If the product is faulty, then you are still entitled to repairs/refunds/replacements under Irish law, if you bought it from an Irish retailer.

I'm not sure what sort of laws apply if you bought it online from a site outside the jurisdiction.

What they told you is not correct, Macs come with 1 year hardware warranty and 3 months free phone support. Someone has confused the two.

Apple gives you complimentary 1 year warranty and complimentary 3 months telephone support. They were obviously talking about the latter, not the warranty. The guy on the other end might have deliberately caused confusion to try and get a sale, though, I don't know.

Obviously the warranty does not affect your statutory rights. :)

If you do end up buying AppleCare, get it off eBay. It's cheaper than buying it here.
