    Hi all,

This is my first time posting in this section and I am doing so as I need some help with a massive flag.

The flag is a crowd cover for Cork City FC fans and is green and white fabric. We had the numbers "1984" sewed on to it two seasons ago but they have fallen off and we are thiniking of painting on the numbers instead so there'd be no stitching. The flag is massive (maybe 50ft by 100ft) and we'll need the paint to stick obviously and it has to be red paint.

Any idea's on what type of paint we should use?

    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't offer any brand names as I've only used them twice, but you can buy fabric dyes quite easily...ask in craft or sewing shops I guess?

you can buy fabric paints in art shops, but, thinking about it they may work out pricey as you'll need a good bit...

I don't see why household oil paint wouldn't do, but please try out on scrap of fabric first and allow it to dry to see what it's like....

Thanks for the replies lads. This flag took ages to first make and was very very expensive, material wise, too. I'll enquire about fabric paints and I'll give the oil paints a try.

There is really no way the letters should have fallen off in 2 seasons, why not go back to the people who made it and see what they say.

acrylics are what you should use, your local art shop will advise you to use acrylic inks or paints, i think inks!
