    Just wondering if anyone else is noticing any issues with screen size for sky sports 2, really noticed it when they where showing the Champions league, seemed to be incorect sizing. Intereesting if I went to Sky Xtra and hit the red button and watched the game there instead of through SP2 the screen deminsions seemed fine.

    All other channels are fine so I don't believe it is tv related.

    Does anyone have teh frequency for sp2 (uk, ie: without Irish ads).

    Sky Sports 2 for me doesnt make the tv swith to 16:9. it makes it switch to 4:3 even when there is widescreen programming on :mad:

    12.266H 27.5 2/3. This always happens for while now and then takes them ages to fix it.

    Yeah noticed that here too with tonight's golf.

    As for the Champions League, that's a different matter (which I haven't seen a thread about here yet).

    Sky are getting in 4:3 pictures from the overseas games from Spain, Italy, etc. Up until recently they used to broadcast these as 4:3.

    Now however, they're doing a kind of "smart" conversion to 16:9. It's not zooming in, and it's not stretching the picture, but it's a kind of combination of the two. (Similar to the "smart" setting on Sony widescreen TVs).

    What this means is that no one, (no matter what TV or Digibox settings you use) can get the picture in it's proper aspect. (setting your TV to "wide" (as Sky intends) makes them "too fat", and setting your TV to 4:3 makes them "too skinny").

    They should just re-broadcast it as 4:3 like it's intended and let people use whatever TV setting they're used to.

    <end rant>

    agreed. saw this the other night. it is ridiculous for a premium channel to be pulling this kind of stunt

    I mentioned the Sky Sports 2 issue to Sky customer line in Scotland, and they accepted its a broadcast issue, but didnae do nothing.

    BTW this problem is affecting people on chorus as well. Friend of mine watching golf the other night said the picture on SS2 was off skew.This must relate to the Sky source as well
