Was this shown on Irish TV? I absolutely don't remember it. I remember the one where the shoe was drawn on the child's foot with thick black marker.

Yep was on Irish telly alright. :)

Good old Clarks and their half sizes.

The one thing about Clarks is, if they say it's a 6, it's a 6 - none of your Schuh 'it's a small fit' nonsense.

There should be a sticky for old ads no?

how do you embed the youtube video

as for the shoes, remember having the ones that glowed in the dark when i was small.

    Use the code

Eg. Take the part in bold and put it in where 'videocodehere' is listed. Same with any youtube video.

I think I had a pink pair. The key had a function, right? You could turn something in the sole with them?

I lost the key and I couldn't change the sole anymore :(.

Does anyone else remember a similar Clarks promotion during the early 90's that involved some sort of credit card type card. I think it was given to a child when they bought some sort of silver runner they were peddling at the time. It was simply a square card but all I remember was how I was obsessed with getting one.

Oh God I used to love that ad so much! I wanted to BE that girl - I really thought that when I got my pair of shoes that magic things were going to happen and I was going to save the world from some kind of evil force. Words can't express the let-down when I found out that all the key did was change the picture at the base of the heel...

I had them for my communion in 1990. I loved them. I got Magic Steps stickers with them too, which were still stuck to my bedroom up until 3 years ago.

Snap (right down to the year!). Don't think my stickers lasted quite that long though :D

What the makers of that ad didn't factor in was the years of abuse a certain feminine 7 year old ***** Clarke would recieve at the hands of his class mates in his all boys school. I think the nickname Princess lasted well into his teens. It was just too easy.
