When ever i am recording two channels at the one time and someone selects a different channel the recording channels automatically stop recording!

    This is driving me crazy!

Does anyone know is this the norm or would i have a faulty box?

I only have the box a couple of months.

yes this is normal.your sky+ box only has a duel tuner.this means you can record 2 programmes at once as long as your watching one of them.if you do switch channel it should give u an option on which one you want to cancel.

Yes this is perfectly normal with Sky+ your options are:
    1. Watch one channel, record a different one
    2. Record 2 different channels while watching one of them
    3. Record 2 different channels while watching something recorded previously
If you are recording 2 different channels and you try to change to another one you should be prompted asking you which recording you want to cancel.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

The manual didn't seem to say that if recording two channels and switch to view a channel during recording you will have to forfeit a recording.

Mine seems to forfeit recordings without even prompting although most of the time this is happening different family members are in control and then when i get to view my recordings they are only partly recorded.

It's the one major bummer i see in the system.

Possibly 4) record two channels when you leave it in standby?

There are only two tuners. I suppose technically it could record 4 and let you watch a 5th, if it was only two transponders. Tricky though.

Yes this is the case. Sounds like someone is ignoring the prompts... when you see the prompt, pressing the red button gives you further options. Ie selecting which program gets the chop.

When you are selecting a program to record try pressing the blue button to select keep on your first preference.
