this from the enn site yesterday
could anyone explain this in english.

Digiweb has deployed an Ethernet over optical network within its Dublin Metro network. The joint Transmode/Overture Networks solution was integrated by Dublin-based Next Generation Networks. Utilising Overture Networks' ISG 2200 nodes, Digiweb will be able to extend its Ethernet-based service offerings over off-net E1 connections, in addition to direct 10/100 BaseT solutions. The TM-Series nodes from Transmode are designed to provide Digiweb with a scalable and flexible WDM backbone network.

Digiweb now have an IGNORANT amount of bandwidth in Dublin so nyah boo to everybody who does not have an ignorant amount of bandwidth in Dublin.

They can also offer enet type fibre connections in Dublin, normally these are only available down the country .

None of this has anything much to do with Metro which is wireless not fibre.

    Ah..
    Disambigulation
    1) "Digiweb Metro" A trade name for a wireless Broadband solution

    2) "Metro" as in Digiweb's "Dublin Metro", shorthand for metropolitan area network AKA MAN

    1) Is radio waves from Masts to homes.
    2) Is a giant fibre ring in the ground.
