    Got R-Type 3 last weekend and absolutely loving it - brought back a lot of memories and it's pretty tough so it'll last ya.
    Two player rocks on it too.

    Heres a list of the available titles;

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_(Europe)

    If you're a reasonably seasoned gamer a few will stick out for you, namely Mario Kart 64, Bomberman, Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog and the responses to each of these games speak for themselves, pure quality.

    Obviously there are a load more there that deserve a look like Gunstar Heroes, Super Probotector: Alien Rebels (Contra III) and more.

    New titles are released at around midnight tonight (circa 5 minutes past).

    Taking a peek through the older virtual console threads will give you a taste for what deserves a download and what deserves to take a long walk off a short pier. Also looking for old reviews of each game that catch your eye can reap good results and 1up.com do a 'retro roundup' each week (for the American releases, which are largely similar to our own).

    Gunstar Heroes should be your first priority. It plain out and out rocks.

    What I've gotten so far, and they're all great.

    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Super Mario Bros
    Kid Icarus
    Legend of Zelda
    Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    Super Mario World
    Super Mario Kart 64
    Gunstar Heroes

    I'll probably pick up Comix Zone once I get some more points too. I never got round to completing it on my Megadrive.

    My VC purchases so far;

    Ristar - meh, can't really get into it...
    Gunstar Heroes - Great stuff, would definitely recommend.
    Donkey Kong Country - An absolute must-have IMO
    Mario '64 - has aged very badly...
    Super Mario Bros - worth buying
    Super Mario World - WELL worth buying, classic stuff!
    Columns - I love it, can't wait to give my ma a game of it for old time's sake:p
    Golden Axe - Has aged terribly!
    Bomberman - great multiplayer craic
    Super Castlevania IV - too slow and limited for my liking, Dawn of Sorrow has spoiled me...
    Kid Icarus - fairly dated, but still enjoyable

    Out of tht lot, I would recommend DKC first, followed by Gunstar Heroes and SMW

    Kinda dissapointed at the low number of N64 and GC games available on the virtual console. Also, can we ever expect to find Saturn, Dreamcast or Playstation games on it??

    I very highly doubt that we will get playstation games and Dreamcast games i also doubt we will be gettin but we probably will get saturn games

    But Sega are obviously on board with Wii - the Dreamcast has some classics

    Most Dreamcast games wouldn't fit on the internal memory of the Wii and the Saturn is notoriously difficult to emulate due to it's weird architecture. We might see small third party PS1 games on the Wii, ala Symphony of the Night on Xbox Live(although Symphony of the Night is a massive game in terms of storage), but I highly doubt it.
