Ive been coming the following scenario alot lately and it always seems to cost me. For example you have 6Qo on big blind and board comes 996 rainbow. In a 3 way+ pot should i just check/fold or how should i play it. The amount of times lately ive been in this scenario and came up against 6K+ but more often trips or and overpair. Only losing small pots mind ya, thats where the problem is, they seem to bet for value because they either have trips and dont want to scare you off, or they have an overpair and are scared of the pair on board and thus the betting is small but im on losing side more often than not. Should i just check/fold or is there a better way to play it

calling bets in this spot is pretty bad tbh, if someone's betting they almost certainly have u beat.

it's unbeliveable how badly most players play paired boards.

In certain scenarios this is a great situation to make a play for the pot with or without a 6 or a 9. I don't think betting out the flop is bad, its pretty good if you normally bet out your monsters, and if your opoenents are poor its a good spot for check raising the turn. I would usually check and just see what happens then react to the situation depending on my notes on any player who bets this kind of flop.
