    check the flop

I dont know what he has and i dont really care, judging by you posting it he has KK or quads but you are totally overthinking this hand and it plays itself once that turn card comes. he will have AK/A2s, AA random **** much more often

i dont mind the turn call but its purely a slowplay and to let him hang himself, you should obviously shove the river

Jamm it and find out exactly how much he likes his hand, you are ahead here more than you are behind.

Yep, when he check-raised the turn i was putting him on AK here and so i didnt want to push all in on the turn and scare him off top pair as i figured id get him to call another bet on the river and i didnt mind giving him a chance to see another card. When he bet out again on the river i wasnt sure if it was a blocking bet or he really had something but i got all in he called with KK obviously

Going all in here was a bit stupid. just call the bet on the river. He wouldnt raise preflop here with a 2 unless it was pocket 2s. Judging by his bet sizes you should have smelt a rat and just called the river. For me personally this hand did indeed stink of KK.Watching peoples bet sizes can save u alot of money.

There are certain hands in life you're meant to lose all your money. This is definitely one of them.
Overall getting all your money in with such a hand will be profitable , so dont berate your play.

the bet on the flop is fine.
you dont have much chance of improving here at all (drawing to two cards) so betting here is good .you will protect your hand against over cards like AQ,AJ or what ever over cards villain could have plus there is a chance you may get him to fold 77,88,99 etc.

Sorry, but thats utter crap. It didn't take any great skill to smell the KK, but it was nothing to do with judging the bets sizes. The fact that dvdfan posted this hand suggests he lost, as if he shoved and got called by AK there would be nothing to warrent a discussion. Its clear to everyone that he probably has KK.
Only calling the river here is bad IMO, and if you really suggest it then sounds like you suffer from MUTB syndrome. If it was a tourney, early stages and you and villian were the two biggest stacks, then you might be able to justify only calling as no need to risk it, but in a cash game surviving counts for squat, ship it, makes the most in the long run.

Only part I agree with is that a 2 a unlikely.

this isnt a big deal either way, but checking is superior - you can induce a bluff on the turn vs a reasonably aggressive opponent, we can check it down in position, worse hands will rarely if ever call a bet and if we check and they hit one of their 6 outs i dont really care

also, he will never check/fold for one bet with any hand that beats us, if he checked with 77+ its for pot control
