Panther/Tiger Woes!

    Hello heads,
    i have an imac g5 with Panther (i think)
    My current os is OSX 10.3.9

    I thought all along my mac was up to date, but got a new app yesterday...compatible only with OSX 10.4.2 or later

    I need to upgrade to at least 10.4.2, and I was just about to purchase Tiger 10.4 online....until I saw a thread below..with someone stating that I can apparently upgrade direct to OSX 11???
    Can I do this for free.

    Cad é an scéal ceainn??
    p.s. the app is a synthesizer vst instrument

    You've gotten a bit confused. There is no OS X 11, there is Leopard (10.5) which is coming later this year. X11 is a GUI for unix that runs within Mac OS X.

    osx 11 will not be out for a while - the next iteration is Leopard or OSX 10.5. it will cost you about €99 euro to upgrade when it is released (in the next couple of months).

    If you want to upgrade now to OSX 10.4 it will cost you around €99.

    You're best to wait.... unless you desperately need the new app then you will have to pay the €99 twice!

    i was hoping there was no OSX 11 yet.

    Much obliged for clarifying that lads.

    I just ordered Tiger now....its a tb303 bassline synthesizer vst i recently stumbled upon....and i need the ****er installed NOW!!!

    Yeeeiiiuwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
