Well it was a blind 180 in that he threw the first two darts into the treble twenty and then as he threw the third dart he looked away from the board so that he didnt see it go in. People make a huge deal over it but he was actually looking at the board when he threw the third dart, he just turned away right after he threw it.

Cant find a video of it anywhere, I have searched for it before.

a mate of mine (who I also play darts with) did a "lewis" when playing against John Part in an exhibtion. He had 2 T20's and Then turned his head away before he threw the last dart. Hit the T20 with the dart.:)
In the same leg (701 for the exhibition) he had 120 with his first two darts when Part asked him to try it again. He did not make it he second time and ended up with 140.

It was in the PL 2007, if I remember correctly. He tried it a few times throughout the tournament and it didn't work. These were the days when he couldn't take the grief off the crowd. Apparently he does it regularly on the exhibition scene.

To anyone who thinks it's not impressive, see how many darts it takes you to hit one blind T20. Considering your dart follows the direction of your head, jolting your head away as you release it means that it should, naturally, end down towards the 16/10 (depending on which way you jolt it). It takes extraordinary skill...especially to do so on live TV, when the crowd is on your back and your as young as he was at the time...

I don't know, i mean the dart is gone clean out of his hand when he turns his head. I agree with kingp, far much attention is paid to it.

I saw it man, plenty of times. He turns his head as he's releasing it. That's the one time you don't wanna move your head...much less jolt is the other direction. At the speed he throws his darts...he'd look a prat if he threw it, THEN turned his head and claimed it was a blind 180. By the time he'd turn his head the MC would be halfway through saying "One hundred and eighty!" and it'd defeat the purpose.

Why would they make a big deal of it if he turned his head AFTER releasing it? Pretty much EVERY player does that on the circuit when they look at the crowd?

I still think it's far overhyped. I'm getting about as tired of hearing it as i am watching "the great entertainer"
