I got a Canon Ixus 800 a while ago and have been loving playing around with it since. Photography is definitely something I want to pursue, especially due to how it will help me in my course (Architecture). I've been playing around with different shutter speeds, night shots, using Fajita's B&W tutorial (thanks a million for that btw, there's a world other than desaturation out there!) and the results are posted on my flickr.

It's funny, I was at a concrete factory last week with my class, and despite all the effects are adjustments I've been learning and using, my favourite photos so far are ones I've taken on Auto setting. The most recent photos are the ones I'd most like a review of.

    Thanks a mil!

I have that camera too - its good, but you have to watch the exposure. Highlights tend to blow out quite a bit.

What shots are you referring to?

I think he was referring to the camera itself. Your photo "An Fear Marbh" has blown highlights if you want me to pick one.

Okay so I've just looked up what blown highlights are...basically overexposed, white parts of the image where there is no detail? I can see it in An Fear Marbh alright. Is it evident in any of my other photos? The sky in the background of the pouring concrete picture?
