Gladiator or Troy?

Curious to see that Troy & Gladiator were head to head on Sunday night. I know Gladiator is an excellent movie and one that's wheeled out when people want to show off the home cinema system, but I've seen Troy a few times now & it's grown more on me each time. The cinematography, battle scenes is just as spectacular but I find the (flawed) characters and story in Troy much more interesting.

So which did you watch on Sunday?

(& yes, I deliberately left out "Atari Jaguar" :) )

I remember seeing Troy in the cinema and being impressed, and like the OP, the more I see it, the more it grows on me.

Gladiator is vastly superior. Troy felt far too by-the-numbers, and it was just a mediocre film.

I thought the fight between Hector and Achilles was impressive but over all Gladiator is a much better film. I wouldn’t say Troy is a bad film, just not as good overall as Gladiator.

I've only seen Troy the once and it was more than enough. One of the worst films I've ever seen. There's something about it that I can't quite describe that just makes me hate it.

Gladiator is a film I could watch again and again.
