My beloved caught sight of my balance on PP and has
decided we need a new sofa!!! Shocking Bad Beat imo :(

What's the procedure re providing proof of identity, bank details etc
and how long will a cheque normally take to arrive?

Have you tried asking PPP support?

    they are so awkward

i open an account yesterday to play some qualifiers for the sunday GF Irish open - it tells me if i deposit via neteller it wont clear for 36 hours so i use my cc for 50 euro
once ive started playing in the satellite i go to deposit more via neteller but it says i cant. wtf. so i talk to support and they tell me i have to have a 0 account balance to change my ONLY deposit method to neteller. i say fine, cashout my money. sorry u have held funds of whatever amount which wont clear for 3 days. WTF are held funds?

these guys are so incompetent only reason I play there will be to qualify for the open

if you deposited via laser it will be in your account in 5-7 days if you went any other route of depositing your dosh it will tke 10-14 days for a cheque to arrive....

you dont need any details when withdrawing as they should have them all from when you deposited the money.

    Cheers Legend,
Unfortunately my initial funds came via a FreeRoll
so presumably I can add an extra week
for my details to arrive and get verified?

btw Valor - "Held Funds" according to the PP terms and conditions appear to
be winnings which cannot be released for 3 days after being accrued.

You won a Sofa out of a freeroll? I'm impressed :D
If you have been asked to send verification your account can be cleared for withdrawal via cheque as soon as we receive it.

"Held Funds" Is a fraud protection mechanism which is placed on recent and unverified accounts. Each section of profit is held for 72 hours and released when that time elapses unless the customer has the funding manually cleared by our gaming support team.
This 72 hours gives our fraud team enough time to investigate and ensure that no suspect play is involved.

I thought you could just go into any PP and take money over the counter once you login successfully

Not yet unfortunately. We have the facility for cash deposits at the shops but not cash withdrawals as of yet.
    :(

Rightly so. Issuing receipts for cash withdrawals from online gambling via the bookies would be viagra for Michael McDowell.
Example: I could cut up and ship 20 stolen cars to Eastern Europe and pay my people in cash courtesy of Paddy Power. With tax free winners slips to explain it all.
    sweet. :D

Does this mean it maybe a possibility in the future?

How long does it take to have an account verified, i've had my PPP account for 6 months now and still have held funds, i thought it happened to everyone.

....I also assumed it happened to everyone - i've had a PP betting account, and then a PP Poker account for years and still have to wait the 72 hours - what exactly does account verification mean?

Some say it's so that you won't be able to cash out immediately, and might get bored and decide to play some more poker. So it could be a cunning plan by PPP to get more rake.
I don't know of any other poker sites that do this.

Been playing on Sporting Index (Tribeca) and they go one step further than PPP on held funds. Not only can't you withdraw for 72 hours, you can't 'get bored and play more poker' as you put it... you can't play with your winnings at all.

At an extreme example if you deposit $220, play 1 $200 STT and win it then your account balance will be Zero and your held funds will be $900, but can't be played with for 72 hours.

My interpretation of the PPP conditions regarding Held Funds
is that they withhold release of winnings for 3 days,
regardless of how long an account has been established,
so that any suspicious play can be investigated before being paid out.

I cannot however understand why PP Shops can easily
accept cash across the counter for poker accounts but find
it impossible to release funds from the self same accounts!!!

Ladbrokes, for one, have no difficulty providing this customer friendly service.

It is six months as it happens.. so you are due to be removed from the system. I can check into it if you want to send me your PPP username?

It only applies to Poker accounts. In this case we put in a timeline - poker customers who are over x time with us are not longer a fraud liability.

Again I can check into it if you want to PM me your username.

Some offer "INSTANT" cash back but then it seems to take an inordinate amount of time to actually get back to your card.. we are being pretty straight forward about it.
