just cheating in general or do you have a specific type or example of what they are at coz there are loads of dfferent types of cheating

doing the old who wants to be a millionaire trick coughing to signal to each other

i wasnt there i was just told two guys called them on it and there coughs were suddenly cured but apparently they are regulars

i presume they were doing it to know when to push other people off big pots and that sort of ****

That's mad. Could be total bull**** from someone who lost money to a couple of students though. In fact, I'm more inclined to believe the latter for some reason.

yeah us students were always bound to collude, those non students are so much less likely to do it.

    tbh, no it's not.

most students would be too stooopid to put together any effective means of collusion.

doesn't help you get moved around a good bit btw.

    story's not true.

there's not THAT MUCH money sloshing around, not enough for someone to put a team together anyway, lol. what's with the suspicion of students....?

Now if they were going to MIT, it would be a whole differant story!

    cash game so no moving

as for students being too stoopid maybe most of them but students tend to have high ambitions and think they are smarter than they are

alot of scammers etc start in college just think about the mit blackjack team people in trinners for winners will hear that and be like "if they could do that in vegas we could so do it down the merrion or wereever"

edit cooke got there before me

and i say students at the mo coz they are young(i am a student btw) generally more reckless and gagging for a way to make money without the usual grind. i know i am looking for anyway possible to increase my cash flow i just want to do it legit but if i dint i dont think it would be dat hard to milk some nice cash by cheating

theres enough to keep 2/3 students living nicely

and anyone could be doing it its jsut i was told it was students and i always thought myself that someone would try it

yes there is....I lived there for a while :) ... there's multiple feeder tables which you work through to get to the main table.

collusion is just not going to be effective in a live game, if they want to collude they should just get im and go online for a month or two til they get banned.

If people collude live it's usually when they sandwich a player between their raises and reraises, which means they have to be sitting the right position, it's also gonna be picked up pretty quickly, and isn't gonna add much to their bottom line compared to what they'd make playing normally.

the mit blackjack was a total different animal to two dirty hoodie wearing trinner tossers coughing to each other in an empty building.

i never played in the fitz only the merrion and wasnt moved in the merrion so assumed it was the same my bad

ye the more i think about it the more it sounds unlikely but i do think its inevitable but i obviously give students more credit than most people

A guy was telling me a story of when he was playing in....Mississippi i think, 2 guys were colluding by squeezing him between their raises and reraises, he copped on fairly quick, but before he left he managed to hit the nuts against them with rockets i think, he just sat and called off their stacks while they tried to bet him off the pot. sweet spot.

I've no doubt that some "soft play" goes on. I can't comment on whether they were were students or not though people tend to have stronger friendships in college as they spend all day and all night with them in general and they are all in the same boat of trying to make ends meet.

Anyway, I think that more then colluding against you, most of what happens would be "not stacking their mate". I've heard one or two comments like "if it was anyone else Id push" as they call ... etc.
I dont think its harmless but there are bigger and better opportunities to cheat then the 50-PLHE game in the fitz...

i frequently cheat, especially in home games when its easy to deal yourself high pairs. oh look i hit quads again.......

Most of the cash games in town are too soft and too loose for this to be in anyway more profitable than playing a tight aggressive game.

Ugh. I take this is because of the fact I played on two accounts at the same time, at different tabes, with different people. I think this is so far removed from colluding, peeking etc that it shouldn't be mentioned in this thread.

Maybe the next time you are playing a hand on line and passer by says he thinks you should fold and you take this into account when you decide what to do you should email support and ask for your funds to be confiscated for cheating. Or maybe its not quite what people mean when they mention cheating.
