Which amp?

Starting gigging with the band on the 2nd of March and I really need a larger amp for both practise and gigging as am currently using a 'Cube  whcih means I find myself being drowned out by the 30 watt bass and drums. I also can't hear my vocals as am also using a 'Cube for that too.

So basically I'm in the market for a 50 watt amp suitable for gigging and practise. We play covers of bands such as The Kooks,Razorlight,Arctic Monkeys and Muse and play quite cleanly without too much effects (except my DS-1). Any suggestions?

What's your budget? Perhaps something like a Fender Deville?

blues junior is a great amp.

300-400 with that sound in mind is tough.

maybe a vox ad50 or a line 6 spider III (not a fan of modelling but it might be best at this price)

maybe look at 2nd hand stuff

For the bands you mentioned i'd say go for a classic sounding valve amp (blues junior +1) and a nice OD like a Maxon OD808 or modded tubescreamer to push the amp.. Dont even consider using a DS1 live to be honest... they sound bad. Hell even a DOD440 or Boss SD-1 would cut the mustard better than a DS-1 if yer on a tight budget. I really think single channel amp and a boost/OD is where its at tbh.

The Laney LC30 II would also suit your needs. All valve, 2 channels, sweet cleans, versatile gain channel, dam loud for 30 watt rating!
