    Hi,

Yes, a new LCD screen will fix this problem. The black ink is from the LCD (liquid crystal display). When it gets damaged the liquid crystals inside leak out and look like ink. If you are looking for someone to fix it, I would recommend

    www.theipodrepairstore.com

They offer a $79.99 LCD repair that includes shipping both to them and back to you. They send you an envelope and packaging materials.

    or

    www.ipodpartsonline.com

They have good prices on iPod parts and offer free installation.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.
