95 bit tool set Aldi €7.99

Was doing some work on the car today and came across a screwhead that none of my screwdrivers would fit. Something called a torx head.
So off I went to every place I could think of looking for the specific size but couldn't find anything that wasn't in a set or in multiple sizes and all at relatively outrageous money.

I'd kind of given up when I was driving past aldi and popped in for a few things and there in one of the baskets was this little yellow box containing 95 assorted screw bits, philips, slot, square, triangle, allen keys and torx in every available size. There was also a ratchet, a t-bar and extension bars anda handle for the screwdriver.
All this for less then the price of a set of 3 bits in one of the places I visited.

I thought this was superb value, the nearest equivalent to this in atlantic homecare was €30+ and only had about 60 bits and no tools.
If you do any sort of work on the car or stuff roiund the house then this little box of tricks is well worth having for the money.

Sounds like you have a french car. Every car iv had peugeot and citreon are the only ones iv come across with torx heads. They dont round off as easily-handy to have around.

    Yup, 106.

I noticed a very small gauge torx head in my SE mobile when I was switching out the SIM a while back and I'm pretty sure I saw some inside my dell desktop last time it was opened, but I never had cause to need to open them.
This set has bits you'll never need, it even has the security version of the torx and allen key bits, plus something called a spannerhead.

I've included a scan listing all the included bits.
F*cked if I know what half of them are even used for :D

XBox has them too - I'm sure they are quite common in hardware stores

Ah another 106 owner! You'll need all the torx heads you can get so! Iv had my everything inside the car stripped off and went through two sets of heads. Was worth it in the end, atleast it was the heads of the bits that went and not the screw head.

Nah with me behind the wheel, it negates the need for any further means of wrecking it...

Dont you need a T6 to open a mobile?

Another use for cheap torx drives : if you have a rounded allen headed bolt you need to open , carefully batter in a suitable sized torx ( just big enough that it will go in without too much force , and be really careful if its bolted into aluminium parts) . It works well if you do it right.
