Its a pretty decent days racing today, im actually surprised at the amount of intesting races.

My banker of the day is between Mansony and Straw Bear.

The former looked better than ever on his reappearance and in a field full of unreliable horses he looks a cracking bet.
The latter i cannot believe is trading at odds against at the moment. Afsoun has won a couple of mickey mouse races easily and is way too short for what he has done. Straw Bear has 10lbs in hand on official ratings and defeat is out of the question imo.

Another old fav of mine Rhinestone Cowboy who btw i still firmly believe is the best hurdler ive ever seen runs in the 2.35 at Haydock. On his first run back he was a shadow of his former self but im hoping on better ground and with a real jockey on board today he can put up a better showing. i just couldnt let him win at 12/1 having not backed him :)

Im really looking forward to the return of Harchibald in the big hurdle race at Gowran. While its hard to advise backing him after it being so long since he last ran to his best its an interesting stat that Harchibald has met Macs Joy 5 times and NEVER has the Harrington horse finished in front of him. If he goes off 4/1 he has to be backed.

The 2.20 at Ascot looks another good opportunity to take on Monets Garden, a horse i have never been a fan of. If Central House takes him on for the lead which i suspect he will it could put him off his game a bit and set it up for a hold up horse. Ive a feeling Fota Island could be suited by this race, he has a couple of bad runs to bounce back from but 7/1 compensates for that.

btw the Paul Nicholls acca tomorrow of Gungadu, Opera Mundi, Predateur and My Will could take some stopping.

Lingfield: Barney Mcgrew looks nap of day in 1.35, at crap odds though. Backed him last time when he ran into trouble before coming second to good winner, may have won with clear run. Certain justice may be better value each- way in same race.

    NB- Maltese Falcon in 3.50

Straw Bear is officially 3lb better than Afsoun, on official ratings.

Rinestone cowboy now 20/1 on betfair, doesn't look encouraging.
