Windy Wellington in February is not to this makeshift Aussie team...

Australia lose by TEN wickets with 23 overs to spare... First time ever Australia have lost an ODI by that margin

    Australia 148 (49.3 ov)
    New Zealand 149/0 (27.0 ov)

    :D

Fantastic win by NZ, Australia not so hot without a few big guns, 4 defeats in 5 great stuff :D

Oram's busted finger looked nasty though.

Saw that. Tip of ring finger on left hand, the way he caught the ball off Johnson, it was as if that finger acted independently of the rest of the hand to catch the ball. Must have just dug into the seam and turned. Ouch.

New Zealand 337-5 (48.4 overs) bt Australia 336-4 (50 overs) by five wickets

Another great win by the black caps, a huge total to chase down.

Aussies off the top of the ODI rankings too replaced by SA

No worries. Build up to 1999 was a bad 'un too. As well as the first two group games.

I'd rather Punter & Co has a shocker in the lead up rather than the tourny itself. Going to be different in the CWC. Small grounds. Fast outfields. A bowler's nightmare and batsman's dream. The Lankans are having a similarly bad lead-up as it is. Would you write them off? Not for a second.

Aussie will enter that comp well pumped up. Bing Lee will be missed but Tait is getting some tough lessons at the mo and will learn from the process. He's going to love those Caribbean conditions.

Going to be a great CWC this time around.

I hope NZ keep drilling them like this :D, fair enough they are missing some key players but that does not justify a defeat of that magnitude, they are supposed to be the *best* team in the world.

They are the best team in the world. No doubt about it. Rankings and a loss in a home Tri series or a mini-series in UnZid won't mean squiddly if they win the CWC on the 28th of April

Shame really that all this is taking place after one of the biggest thumpings of an Ashes side ever. FIVE to NOTHING.....NADA.....NIL.....DIDDLY SQUAT ;)

When the Aussies lose, in any event, England supporters (and those of other countries!) take comfort whenever they can :D

I know its only a couple of games, but the Aussies are now really worried about the loss of champions like Warne and McGrath. Yes, Warne didn't play an ODI for donkeys, but McGrath looks ineffective down now that he sees the line. If Lee is also crocked, and they left Stuart Clark out, there is cause for concern for the Aussies. Good :D

    One-day international, Hamilton:
New Zealand 350-9 beat Australia 346-5 by one wicket

    Un-bloody believable!

Another superb run chase by NZ, Aussies looked shell shocked at the end :D

    Hayden not looking too clever
Alex Kountouris, the Australian physiotherapist, said a decision on Hayden's return to cricket will be taken in Brisbane on Wednesday: "An X-ray of Matthew Hayden's right foot has shown a fracture to his big toe. He will see a specialist in Brisbane tomorrow at which point his medical management will be outlined including his return to play."

Hayden's injury was the latest setback to a team which has been plagued by fitness worries recently. Brett Lee is a doubt for the World Cup with an ankle injury, an arm injury to Andrew Symonds might severely hamper his bowling and fielding, while Michael Clarke was sent back home from New Zealand due to soreness in the hip. The injury worries have further added to setbacks on the field, with Australia losing the VB Series finals to England and then being beaten by New Zealand in the first two matches of the Chappell Hadlee Trophy.

    Hopefully its serious! :D

Watched the first 20 overs of the game. Damn time distance, would have probably watched the whole thing if it weren't at such an awkward time.
