anyone know if tmc (traffic messaging channel) is available in ireland for use with satnav devices? if so anyone using it with their satnav and do you find it useful?

Dont work here AFAIK , post on the GPS forum . You should get more replies .

There isn't one in Ireland.

the only way you can get traffic messages on your gps is if that gps has mobile network connectivity, like a smartphone or some of the more expensive TomTom gps devices. Even then, traffic data is a little spotty..

There is TMC in Ireland. In Garmin PNDs it is already in.
For connected devices and mobiles you can also use traffic info service.
