Another Filler? theres only 4 episodes left! I'll kill them!

indeed, another bloody filler, at least last weeks filler was a little bit more entertaining, this just didnt entertain me.

Some of the lines just seemed very unconvincing....

My thoughts exactly - at first I thought they might get their hands on the tablet mentioned at the start of the episode but alas it was another failure.

There was a lack of continuity in this episode as well - Carter was off briefing President Hayes about the alternate reality thing, but that happened 2 episodes ago.

This, IMO, was the most "earth like" planet SG1 has visited since they started going through the Stargate. It had earth style weapons, a museum that would be mistaken for anything in America and riot police that could have come from the local police station outside Cheyenne mountain. There was no attempt to make it look like an alien planet at all, although I suppose its better than the usual village they walk into (which looks suspiciously like the village where the met the Prior at the beginning of season 9 :D )

If this was earlier in the season I might have been more entertained, but with only a few episodes to go, I was hoping for so much more.

I liked it alot. An episode like this will have alot more rewatch value some wednesday afternoon on sky1 when im off sick, 2 years from now, compared to an ep where they make some marginal progress towards destroying the ori. Its only a filler in the way every single ep of Star trek, and TNG were filler. Small, individual, story. Just my opinion.

That said, whoever wrote the dialog should be shot. It was obviously someone who never saw an episode of stargate.

This story was co-written by Ben Browder, so emm there ya have it, he sucks. :P

Meh it was ok, tbh a nice change form the usual "OH NOES OUR MEDIEVAL VILLAGE IS GONNA BE OWNED BY THE ORI! HEPLZ!"

I dont really see it as bad that they arent pushing the Ori thing, cause most season dont get all dramatic till last 4 or so episodes, so hopefully from this point on, stuff is relevant...tbh something i'd really love to see (not gonna happen) would be a reunion with Jonas Quinn for an episode (they did mention his home world was overrun by the Ori a while back) just one of those things that we wont ever see :'(

I'd also like to see Jonas Quinn in for an episode or 2.

I am currently watching the 6th season of SG1 on Sky One, and it's just reminding me of how good a character he was, IMO.

    Not going to happen though.

Jonas was terrible...it was literally Daniel with a face job.
Though I too think it would have been good to bring him back...the ideal situation being an episode where we see his planet getting pwnz0red.

This episode was good as far as filler goes, but the ending was pathetic. If yer man was going to pretend that it never happened then Mitchell's big dumb speech really wasn't needed.

Pure filler, the plot was tolerable although as posted there were some seriously large holes in it, some atrocious lines but I didn't find it too offensive. Still it does show how much SG-1 has meandered in Season 10.

As for Jonas, I did find him different and less irritating than Daniel( especially when he is on one of his self-righteous rants). I thought it was a pity he had to "go home" and he could have been a decent occasional character like Jacob Carter or Bra'tac.

Gah! No new sets or weapons props or anything in this episode really made it crap for me a few costumes just won't do it for me dagnammit! :(

Hahaha, Daniels make up in the first scene was OTT, it's like they threw this episode together real fast.

That guard guy was at least a bit entertaining, although a completely crap guard.

Agreed, I love those little bits when teal'c seems to "get" living on earth. The scene where himself and Jonas are eating a stack of Hagan Das that is melting in Prometheus' cargo hold and the face he gives O'Neill when he tries to steal a scoop from him is one of my all time favourite Stargate moments.

Those bits always remind me of the bit waaaaay back in season 1 or 2, when after finding something of importance, they are all walking back to the gate, and O'Neil wonders "maybe i'll get to be on oprah" and t'ealc asks "what is an Oprah?"

It's just nice to see these little things.

Overall, not a great episode, but it doesn't annoy me the way the last few fillers have, maybe it's because they went out with a purpose, as opposed to ending up at mitchels high school reunion, because y'know, there is no unstopable menace out there looking to enslave or kill everyone.

That aside, it's still a very average episode, and some terrible lines. Was Daniel trying to channel jack or something when he started breaking up the cat fight?

the last few episodes better up the ante significantly.

Who wouldnt want to channel jack? In fact the more of that dude we see in the last 4 episodes the better I will feel.

    You must hate mitchell.

cause basically the same thing, they strive to try and keep the same mix they started off with, which is why i liked jonas, he was like daniel (who is cool ) but slighty different.

I'm looking forward to the final episodes, especially to see how they leave the series off running into the first tv-movie.

By far not the worst episode this season. It's good to see the creators harking back to the good old days of one off episodes but as someone else in the thread has pointed out, the last few episodes should be trying to blow the viewers socks off given they'll be the last! Show us some Furlings ffs!

I was thinking the same thing. But apparently we may have already seen them? linky

Definatly used to hate him. But since it's been so long without Jack, the jets have cooled. I think his introduction would have been much smoother had he been introduced in season 8, or Jack had stuck around in season 9.
As for your reason for liking Jonas....I dislike the 'Carbon Copies'....the fact that Jonas was only around for one year just fuels the fire of hate, Sheppard has sorta come into his own and Mitchell got there at the end of season 9.
That's why I like the original Atlantis team, it was mostly different.

What happened with Daniel this episode? The guy goes from Uber-Ascended being guy who mind wrestles the Replicators to "Don't eyeball me."

I mean, it was hilarious, but it was so not him.

Also liked the mention of seaweed to power the gate :D ah the memories.
