dunno if this should be here or in the windows forum... anywho.....

i bought a seagate external hard drive and formatted it for mac. perfect. now i want to use it with a windows pc as well sometimes and the manual said to get software on the windows that enables it to read a mac formatted hdd.

as it stands now, the drive is not recognized when connected to windows.

so does anybody know what software will work on windows?? or how should i go about this??

    cheers
    moe

Iirc the thing to do is format it for PC and it will work on both computers. That's what I did with my iPod at least. Can you test that?

If you want read and write access without additional software you can format the drive FAT32 (note max file size 4gb, so if you have video files not so good). For read access only on mac, NTFS will do the trick.

    Otherwise need software like http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive6/
