Finished 6th in this for -600(due to subsequent cash game tilt). This is my exit hand which I know i played horribly.
Blinds just gone up to 800/1600 ante 200. 6handed.I am in CO with QQ. UTG (10000+) limps in. (he has recently won some big pots so this does not mean anything. Quite tight. I have shown a bluff with 2,3o earlier and had to lay down in a few spots when people came over raises) . I raise to 6500 with QQ. This is where i think it all went wrong. With all the money already in the pot this is effectively a min raise. What would my optimal opening raise here be?

The small blind calls as does the big stack.

    Flop A K Q
Checked to me I bet 10000 Leaving roughly 20000 behind
SB folds BB puts me all in , I insta call he has J 10. Adios.
    Does anyone get away here?

how did you lead out?? the BB check raised you??

the preflop raise isnt much too small imo, maybe 7500 but i wouldnt make it much bigger.

im not folding QQ in that spot ever

no i'm never folding here of course. What i'm pissed about is my initial raise basically gave the Big stack odds to call with ATC. I think i misplayed this preflop, post flop theres nothing i could do.

With qq does he pay u on raggy flop witha j or 10.Sometimes u have to let them catch up even if u do get outdrawn. A top player once told me never sit in a cash game after along run in a tournament.Tilt is just to easy to fall into as seems happened to you.

You played it fine, you want action preflop with QQ. Once the sb calls utg is going to call pretty much whatever you make it. They are both making horrible mistakes coldcalling raises out of position and will make huge mistakes on a lot of flops. Once the flop comes its just a cold deck, dont worry about it.

I agree with Hoffa, I can never play cash games after playing a tournament in which I was anyway emotionally attached to.

I don't know if the big stack is making that huge a mistake here? He has to call 4900 more into a 17000 pot and he has a BIG stack. The sb was DoCo (donal) from boards and i think he may have been slightly steaming after making a big laydown (or so he said!) in a BIG pot against the big stack. These two went on to chop in the end btw.WP lads

    So why did you show??

I think your raise size was fine. You are just thinking results right now.

If you are any sort of decent player the board would have paired on the river anyway!! ;):p

I gotta agree with Jimmy's comments. I think those cash game guys are licking their lips everytime they see a tournie steamer coming over. Why else do you tihnk they all want to know about your exit hand? It's not like they actually care, they are just preprogrammed to keep needling you about it.

lol. Rounders I remember figuring it out and then keeping my mouth shut and going along with the charade for a number of years because Santa gave way more extravagant presents then my parents would have (I had a read). I then convinced my brother one year that we get a joint present from Santa of a computer even though it was the last thing he wanted.

It's all meta game baby!! ;)

sorry only just saw this thread - here is how i saw the hand

Firstly i dont think you raised that much at all, i rem it as 5500, and not 6500 but i could be wrong. the original limper would fold if i fold and call if i call, this is nearly a given - i put him on a suited ace (obv not gud enuf to raise with) or maybe small pockets. your raise was strength as i rem it was too small in my mind (sorry cant rem exact details of the bet size - was steaming a bit) but it only was 5k more, i had still 40k left. with J10 suited i thought i could def hit a big hand, and if i did u would cont bet and pay me off, and if not i would fold, end of. i honestly thought u had AK or AQ and thinking this calling with J10 isnt too bad (considering the holdings i thought the other two were on)

    unlucky anyways
