Wonders will never cease! My SCAR arrived today with my bro's G36C :) I'll be using it this Saturday, with it's sliding/folding stock it's quite small. It's a solid build, no creak at all. The 4 rails are metal and very secure. The metal parts of the gun, outer barrel, rails and sights are a bit badly painted so I'm going to give them a seeing to with Krylon at some stage. Rear sight folds down into a white dot bracket sight for close range, quite nice :) It comes with a metal M4 hi-cap and an 8.4v 1100mAh stick battery. The Bipod/grip pod is black on this version and not the cankerous green of the tan version SCAR. It works great with the spring loaded bipod deploying by pressing a button.

The gun fires about 310-320 fps with .20's and I hear it's got decent accuracy. I'll be checking if the hop has the problem some people have said, I hear it bleeds quite a bit of air out, probably a bad hop bucking. If it is a problem I'm going to change the entire hop out with a Systema one, I'll add a tight barrel at the same time. I want to start changing the internals on my AEG's, better to do it with a clone rather then a TM ;)

Hope it doesn't fail badly this weekend :p

Actually, a question. When the stock is folded, can you access the trigger at all? Someone was saying on ASI how it was a design flaw. But I'm sure its that way on the real thing?

I want to get a SCAR-H to go with my GRAW setup. It may not be the prettiest weapon in the world but I like it.

I was wondering about that myself when I was waiting for it. There is indeed a space between the stock and the trigger assembly so you can fire it with the stock folded :)

ok as those of you there yesterday know, my SCAR took a dump after 2 shots and wouldn't work at all after. I e-mailed Keith at rsov and he's had a few people with the same problems. At his instructions I removed the grip plate to take out the version 2 gearbox motor. When I opened the plate on of the wires had come away from the motor, not broken, it slipped off it's rail, probably badly put on in the factory. I replaced the wire and the motor turned when I pulled the trigger. After replacing the motor into the grip I had to rearrange the wires so they were down the sides. Out of the box they push against the motor wedging it into the mechbox and they gears can't turn.

I put about 400 BB's through the gun and it's running right as nine pence now. Looks like the 8 mid-caps and scope on the way from eHobby will be put to use after all :D

A couple of pics of the SCAR with the motor out. Notice the Multi-metre is reading 7.77V from an 8.4V stick battery. Although Keith tells me thats an acceptable variance.

I was unaware they made that scar in black. I thought it was just that sand colour.

Glad to hear you got it working anyway. Bring it out to a skirmish sometime!

i actually quite liked the look of that thing, i just keep thinking of it in a sand colour and it gives me the shivers but in black it looks mad ;)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder with the SCAR alright. I love it, so much so that I'm going to pick up the CA version when it comes out but only if they release it in black. If not I'll wait for the Star SCAR :p

It's only 800 rounds and I miss reloading during a fight. My Tac vest should take 8, 2 per pouch. I've got my BB use averages down now. I'm firing between 100-200 rounds per hour. Hi-caps aren't for me.

To get better access to the trigger when the stock is folded, extend the shoulder rest two notches and then it will free up the trigger more.

Oh, can the airsoft SCAR have the barrels swaped out to make different variants like the real thing? I'd pick up the 20'' barrel for some sniping when it comes out.

The barrel does screw off but it's a positive thread not a negative :( I can access the trigger fine with the stock retracted but you can't access the mag release. The CA copy has left/right hand mag release but the JLS's versions left side release is non fuctional :( It also lacks the CA versions ability to switch the cocking lever to the right side for lefty's, fortunatly I'm right handed but it sucks a bit. One major oversight is a missing sling loop on the rear left, no 3 point slings unless your are a lefty  The front sight leaves a bit to be desired, it's too open for me, although with the entire top of the reciever being a rail I could put a different one on. The rear sight has windage setting but lacks CA's elevation dial :(
