I'm sure most of you who were at Charleville noticed the spectacular death of my flash - well as of today it's been away for repair for three weeks with no end in sight for it's return . The shop I bought it from admitted that it's defective and that there have been others in with the same issue, and on top of that, they have nothing to offer me as an equivalent replacment, nor will they for some time.

Long story short, I'm going to give it until Wednesday and then force the issue for a full refund on the flash and I'm looking for what's goodly by way of Canon or Sigma for 250 euros and under..

    'Tis for a Canon EOS-400D

If you get a cash refund you should be able to pick up a speedlite 580ex on ebay for that - the web new price shouldnt be too far off that amount either. If you prefer shopping in person conns and berminghams usually have some decent speedlites going second hand though you might have to check back until the one you want appears.

I went to buy a hand grip for the 5D yesterday.

It cost 2.25, but the postage was 20 quid.

The moral of the story is I bought a 430ex to balance the postage.

But seriously, the 430 is a grand flash, and if you do upgrade, you can use it as a slave later on. At 200 euros, it's not too bad either.

Fenster I have 4 x 550ex flahes with very little use, if your interested in one of them send me a PM, these flashes have been replaced by the 580ex.
