Ok normally these things would be held in the Oval on Abbey Street because they have a nice spot upstairs and they serve food until 9pm.

So rather than just say its on in the Oval does anyone have any suggestions for where would be good? Keeping in mind we need to be able to hear each other and it would be a Saturday night.

There's always Lotts too... but I think they tend to have a pianist in there of a Saturday eve.

Maybe an early evening Greet & Grub? Before the masses decend on Dublin city to consume, partially digest and then expel their Saturday night fill of drink, cheap fast food and debauchery?

I think I have to be at a birthday party at about 21.00 or 22.00 in Clane so the earlier the better for me.

Can we not go somewhere southside? What about somewhere nice like cafe en seine or sam sara - you know the type, overpriced beer, nice looking women and interesting looking men?

Or I'd even venture to Lotts if I could remember how to get there - I actually think that place is cloaked and moves around or something

And by greet and grub will there actually be grub? I always end up starving after drinks. If we went to Monkeyfudge's lotts bar we could go to that interesting(and I use the term loosely) cafe we went to the night of the ghost bus?

And can I greet all the single available men - can i can i can i?

Lotts is great (have been a few times since) but very load once the lads start playin music. As for cafe en Seine ... its full of assholes, slappers and farmers!

Oval serves food until 9ish and you can hear each other talk - any other place that can tick those boxes is good with me, and Abbey Street isnt exactly very northside now is it?

Well Issacs hostel isn't far from there.

There are also affordable Bewleys and Jurys hotels in the vacinity. Wynns would be the closest hotel though, but it might be a bit pricier.

Thanks guys, I have checked out a few around the oval and most were booked out but I will find something today and just book it for myself and Lou. Oval it is then for sure?

Dont know whats going on in Dublin that weekend but nearly all the hotels are booked solid. Did manage to get one in upper O' Connell Street in the end. So See ye all on Sat 3rd Mar.

the 3rd sounds fine for me, Ladybird whats the crack with this having to be on the southside? are you a southsider??? cos I thought you were a mulchie? maybe you are one of those country types who rent in the southside of the city and think that makes them a southsider:D all joking aside anywhere is fine for me.
Kshiles/Lou you are welcome to stay in my place that night, there would just be a ban on pointy hats and cats as they freak my wife out. We only have a spare double bed though so the Kshiel/Lou sleeping arrangements of last month would have to continue the only difference would be that when one of you gets up to go to the toilet the other's backside would not hop off the floor.

Anyway I was surprized that nobody noticed that I have not posted in a week, where was I. You know that I had my ticker restarted for the 21st time today, that kind of means I've been dead 21 times (in a way) but I was well under each time , so I'm unaware of any out of body experience, but maybe I've had loads, that could explain why I'm so wise.
Found out today that my good doctors have been treating me for the wrong thing for the past 7 years, the power of a second opinion.:)

thanks for the offer stoner, have everthing booked and paid for so, maybe next time, and as it happens we could only get a double room anyway so sleeping arrangements are still the same, I am actually starting to worry, maybe the universe is trying to tell us something :eek: no thats actually to scary. (Giggles, remembering the blow up bed and its motions).

I'll see what the story is with times etc. If I have to head off early then that's what I'll do.

I will also have my wonderful girlfriend in tow(hopefully) so there will be another non-boardsie present.

The oval's sausages and chips in plastic baskets are ok if you're just looking for a snack but they're not quite as sustaining as a juicy blue bloody steak and will not soak up the amount of alcohol you lot are planning to consume!

Looking forward to it though. I may or may not have my camera with me.... :eek:

PS Stoner I hope all is well with the old health from now on. My own ticker was in a bit of a state after that incident on the bridge on the way down to Charleville so I can only imagine how your own was!! :P

ALSO! Places to stay... for anyone requiring a room, have you tried the abbey hostel? its on the river bank, and literally 3 minutes walk from the oval. ive stayed there a LOT and its really good.
