Has anyone here trained in Taekwon-Do in the INTA TKD centre in town? It's on Exchequer Street.

Thinking about doing a few classes there in the coming weeks.

If so, How did you find it?

Trained there for about 3 years when I was a teenager and reached blue tip.

They're a decent crowd down there, very friendly and everyone gets along, and as was already mentioned they have two very good teachers in Brendan and Gerry.

Ultimately though I gave it up as I really wasn't interested in set drills and forms etc. I just wanted to learn self defence and stay fit so I took up BJJ which I still do, on and off tbh!

    Its worth checking out

I've been there on and off on visits to view black belt gradings (I'm black tip myself), but never trained there. The crew in the INTA centre and fastastic and I have great respect for them. They try to run a good organisation in the middle of a huge amount of political wrangling.

The hall is small and can really only accomodate a small amount of people at a time but you do have gym and physio facilities as well.

Me too - started there when I was 16 (12 years ago), and graded up to Green belt. Cool place, and great people - but I stopped doing TKD mainly after getting into the UFC, etc, and realising that it's not as effective as BJJ, Judo, and even Kickboxing.... I've done all 3 of those since, but mainly at beginners level.

I've heard mixed reports. Never trained there myself, so it is unfair to badmouth it. One of my friends is a huge fan and is still a fan to this date. Another left after 5 years saying it was crap.

Take from that what you will.
