The only things I can tell you about them, is they are far nicer when they have the 289c.u Ford V8 inside, and the Tiger badge on the outside !!

If it hasn't got a V8, it's either not an original Tiger or the badges have been stuck on to an Alpine to make it look like something it's not.
I know a guy who's got one (in Scotland, mind). Would you like me to see if he'd be able to give you some pointers?

    Yes please
Maybe I'm wrong on the Tiger bit i think it is a alpine sunbeam and on the wings~the badges are alpine not tiger SORRY i'm new to the alpine sunbeam and still learning
here is a pic of the car in mind i am buying

Nice looking car, a bit underwhelming to drive, there are a few in Dublin, I've seent them at the various shows !

Were they ever assembled here does anyone know ?

I do know a guy who has one, I've never seen it, but he was able to get parts easily enough from somewhere though I dont think it will be as easy as the Stag !

    Hi Mercmad

sorry for this silly question but you say a bit underwhelming to drive, is that a good thing or bad thing

Its a bad thing, means it was less than you expected, failed to impress, etc. That might be avoided if you get a v8 though :) You are already used to the v8 in the stag, it will be a step down :)

They were assembled here, as far as I know, by Buckleys in Whitehall (later Chrysler of Santry!). There was an original Irish car, possibly an only survivor, for sale on Carzone.ie a while back.

    Buckleys of Santry ??

The guy I know, who has an Alpine, used to work at McKairns (sp.?) up in Santry. they were vehicle asemblers also, laterly trucks. Were they connected I wonder ?

I met an owner of an orginal Irish one at the show in Cathal Brugha Barracks about 5 years ago. It was a grey metallic one which Paul from Classic Cars Ireland had on display !

The body changed very slightly during its production run, the rear fins were reduced somewhat. The car in the Bond video is an early car I think !

The Tigers race up in the Phoenix Park, and usually win, beating the 911's on the straight. Great stuff and wonderful sound too !
