Dublin airsoft site. Skirmish Saturday (17th Feb).

Well you've all been waiting for it. And here it is

Nonex has been hard at work trying to secure somewhere for us all to skirmish in around the Dublin area. He's finally after getting hold of a site close to the city center. It's a CQB area so it should be non stop action.

From what I've been told, its easy enough to make your way to.I think its no more then a bus out to Swords and a mile walk...or short taxi trip if you're lazy. He's going to try and sort something out with the local taxi company.

The first shoot is going to be this Saturday the 17th of February. Yes, THIS Saturday. I'm still in shock myself.

Obviously the site is still only coming together as he only got hold of it recently, but he's pretty eager to get things going.And I know you lot want somewhere in the Republic to shoot!

Anyone who can turn up, please do. He's put quite a bit of effort in, from talks with the local Gardaí and ministers to actually obtaining the land. So any support would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure he'll pop on during the week and explain the details of getting to the site etc. I've had a few conversations over the phone but spent more time talking about the area involved and possible uses of the land then actually getting there.

There's a yard outside that's going to be used for some interesting games. I'm sure it could be used for parking this Saturday.

He has about 18 mp5s out there at the moment for rentals and is going to be getting some side arms for them too.

I'm sure if we all keep safe minimum engagement ranges then use of our rifles will be fine? seeing as they're all sub 1j.

Well, you cant use any grenades indoors due to the smoke and fumes they give off. Although you COULD if you wore gas masks. So one possibility would be a game wearing masks etc. If people wanted to give that a go. There are so many game ideas and possibilities at the moment its actually pretty crazy.

He'll have rental guns but I'm not sure about gear. We're not exactly going to be hiding in bushes or trees, so its pretty safe to say that any clothes should do.

I was considering it. But I reckon keeping it to this thread should hopefully be enough. The fact that it's in town means it doesn't really require the same level of organization that going to Predator did. Plus, hopefully, it'll be open every weekend. So it'll just be a regular thing rather then once off big outings.

The only difference this time however is that there won't be other walk ons like in Predator. So its basically all just us. I have a couple of friends I could bring as rentals. I know N.O.I.P had someone else interested in going. I'd say Nonex might bring a couple. So if you know anyone interested but wasn't really up for traveling to Predator, it'd be a good opportunity for them to have a go.

Although, to be honest, even if 10 or so show up, it'd still be a good laugh seeing as it's indoors.

damn! working on saturday! I always thought it would be a long shot for be to go up north for a skirmish but I figured I might do it once. However if you have something going in dublin then it is much more likely I could go. I work saturdays though. If it is a regular thing i could take a saturday off at some stage.

so where exactly is this? is it a warehouse,who owns it and are you guys renting it? im very interested as this has happened really fast! of course if I did go I would just have my two pistols with no extra mags. would be fun but Id get my as kicked! i also like that it is indoors so you dont have to get camo gear,something else I dont have!

It's owned (well, being rented) by one of our posters here, Nonex. He came up on the last Predator trip.

I think it's an old farm yard. There's a field behind he mentioned that we could use as well.

Hopefully it will be a regular thing. Every weekend would be great. Who knows, maybe even Saturdays AND Sundays. Have to see what the interest is like first.

Excellent stuff! What about your mate from over that direction actually? He be able to drive you over?

Seeing as it's indoors the temperature might not be as much of an issue. So gbbs might actually work for once Then again, I haven't a clue how open air the indoor section is.

It's the first skirmish on the site, so don't be expecting fireworks!

Maybe at some point in the future. I suppose it all depends on the outside land. Really cant have them indoors due to health and safety issues.

Well there was talk of the possibility of terrorist/anti terrorist style scenarios in the future. There might be a bus/coach/plane fuselage added at some point.
Terrorists inside with hostages. etc. Sounds like great fun.

With my Russian tiger camo and AK I'd probably be stuck as a terrorist but now I'm getting the FN SCAR which is so very western I'm not sure

Now I'll be on edge all week. My SCAR and my bro's G36C arrived in Ireland n Friday but knowing customs I may not get them this week. eHobby sent my stuff out on friday which includes a box of M4 mags for the scar. I bet they arrive and the guns don't

Yep he'll be coming provided I can sort out some eye protection, he doesn't have any yet. If nonex has guns for rental will he have any goggles?

He has protection for rentals. I remember him mentioning that he has some full face masks. Not sure if he has any goggles. Must ask him at some point. I'm sure he'll be on reading through this thread shortly anyway.
