I was wondering if many famous people cycle folders. I heard Kate Moss has a Brompton and David Byrne(Talking heads frontman) cycles a folder. Anybody else know any names ? Or know any sites with photos of stars on their folders?

    Thanks
    Shay:)

good question... i am under the impression that there are lots of celebrity brompton owners, but i can't think of any.

i know moultons are not folders, but some do separate and they're often discussed in the same context... designer james dyson, architect norman foster are noted moulton owners and huge fans of the design. peter gabriel also... there's a video on youtube of him singing while riding a moulton ns pylon during a concert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMwn_hnoS5Y

Thanks skidpatches, I have included the moulton. I have put together a page with all famous people who use folders. Also I managed to get an image of Moritz Volz(Fulham Football Player) on his folder

If you had told me this morning that by the afternoon I'd see Sarkozy riding Stephen Roche I doubt I'd believe you, but alas its true!

Apparently Sarko is into his cycling, but judging by his kit there, I think he has a long way to go.

    He's no Roman Prodi:

    Or John Kerry:

Interested that Sarko is riding a Stephen Roche, is there any particular story there?

As we are now off the topic of folding bikes, here is Robin Williams who I discovered on this board has a stable over 50 bikes (with a lot of tasty titanium and steel I believe.)

That was shopped. Here's the original.

Given Bush's difficult with a Segway, I'd hate to see him try a fixie:

It was mentioned that Sigur Ros have Bromptons.

On a side note, it's amazing the number of Bromptons over in London. They have completely taken on a fashion symbol status over there.

The writer Will Self is rather fond of the Brompton. He did a gushing feature on the manufacturers, in the Independent, a while back.

the band Sigur Rós bring Bromptons with them on tour, there's umm.. video of them popping wheelies, somewhere on YouTube.

Just to say, if you get a chance to view the Brompton (paper) catalogue, the company use amusingly tall models, at a guess, to maybe make the bikes look even smaller..

I met Trevor Sargent at the DART station one day with his Brompton. This is on topic only if one considers Trevor Sargent a celebrity :)

You have no idea how hard it is for me to fight the urge to make a Gary Glitter comment. It would involve a long ban.

something tells me Kevin Spacey drove a folding bike when he was working in London. I am too tired to go look for a picture so you'll just have to take my word for it.
