According to this week's Athletics Weekly, Max Jones, former Director of Athletics for UK Athletics is to be offered the post of Director of Athletics in Ireland. He is currently on holidays in Australia where he is considering the offer. According to AW "If he accepts the job, he will head a restructured Irish governing body that is based in Dublin and features ex sprinter, Gary Ryan as director of coaching and Brendan Hackett as it chief executive. The decision is expected to be announced before the European Indoor championships on March 24". There is also a possibility that he may carry out the role in a part time capacity.
