Just wondering have the chorus set top boxes also had logos removed from their EPGs?

I assume we're about to see an update that will have all the boxes running a common EPG fairly soon.

The Chorus and NTL kit run on the opentv platform so it shouldn't be too difficult to get them looking the same.

Chorus does use OpenTV, but NTL doesn't - it uses Liberate. The set top boxes are different, NTL uses Pace (as does UPC in its home market, the Netherlands) but Chorus uses Sagem.

This doesn't mean that NTL and Chorus might not be able to get a functionally identical EPG, but it won't be the same software. Add to that NTL still have far more channels than Chorus (because of Chorus' previous policy of using the MMDS platform as its basis, wheras NTL MMDS is a subset of their cable platform) so ordering may still be different.

For what its worth, it took NTL (UK) years to get the old CableTel and Cable & Wireless networks onto a near functionally identical EPG and and a near identical line-up. Even now there are still noticeable differences, and now they've to integrate Telewest as well.

For these reasons, I don't think a common EPG is immenent - a common colour scheme, sure (the NTL EPG has changed colour scheme before) and the replacement of the various logos with the UPC one (already half-done with NTL's dropping of its own logos). But expect it to be a while before a true common EPG appears.
