    Hi there,

I want to get sky. I live in a rented apartment and therefore i'd rather have no drills in the outer wall...

first thing: will the enegeneer be able to fix the dish on the balcony or are they bound to mount it on the wall? i already have a 4-LNB-FTA dish mounted there, so signal reception is out of question.

sencondly: can i ask the enegeer just to put the cable just through the window (squeeze it)? reading sky's FAQ they are saying it is neccessary to have a hole drilled due to safety reasons.

    Any experience of you guys?

Sounds like you might be better off doing a self install and therefore doing it the way you want it ?

Also you can get short lenghts of flat ribbon cable for windows/patio doors - e.g.
there's one towards the bottom of this page: http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page7.htm
have never used one so no idea what impact they might have on signal/picture quality.

A user here has one of those, and it had no adverse affects on his signals.

I've had no personal experience with them.
