I never thought Fenders were known for their "pretty" looks. I am now a converted man:

    Wow, that's quite something.

    Looks like a Telecaster

An ugly Telecaster with some sort of green fungal infection :p

It seems to be a hybrid Tele/Strat? I don't know the specs. But I will try to find out if anyone is interested.

I afraid that's the most horrible thing ever to wear a Fender badge, the green paint looks just like the Hammerite I painted my gate and railings with.

Ouch. That thing is just wrong :(

And it has to be asked, if you're gonna put a nice bit of wood on top of a guitar, why cover half of it with a pickguard?

    It'll never rust! :D

I think it's pretty. I especially like the maple fretboard. Whether I would pay loads of $$$ for it?

    No.

Nevertheless, a unique Fender hybrid of some sort.

Did Fender actually make it or is it just a Partsocaster with a Fender decal?

Fender Custom Shop - Masterbuilt by Yuriy Shishkov.

Yeah, the pickguard ruins it, but otherwise it's ****ing gorgeous. I absolutely love the colour, and I don't think I've seen a fretboard like that before in my life, it's very unique indeed.

I think it looks pretty good especially compared to some of the guits proudly displayed on this forum :p

    Isn't it a Squier 51?

There is no fretboard, just a one-piece neck of some of the most beautiful maple I have ever seen.

This was on display at NAMM.

Just not my cup of tea, though it's wonderfully made for sure but it's not doing it for me at all. Anything attached toa Tele headstock needs to be battered and bruised to really get me going.

This masterbuilt is more to my tastes ;)

Something's wrong there....love the neck but I normally don't like any aberrations in the general Strat design.

And Johnny, I find your sig REALLY disturbing. :p

Disturbing because a sane man would not be selling that Strat.

    Eric Johnson Strat

    Helllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooo! :D

    Yep and its red.

    Unfortunately its still in transit.
Last known location: International Dispatch, February 06, 2007, 10:34 am, KENNEDY AMC so it could be here any moment now

    And inspired by your V's I got a Tokai 1958 style V. That hasn't arrived either. :(

I'm sure all this hangin' around is character building though. If one or both dont arrive Friday I'm going to be in a quare old mood over the weekend :p

Ah man, we will need server-crashing amounts of pics of that strat. You do realise Ancient1 is making a little voodoo doll of you as we speak? He's not going to forgive this one easily :D

I'd be keen to hear what you think of the Tokai too. Some day, I'm gonna get a 58, there's no point in pretending otherwise, so it's good to get opinions of the contenders :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

I haven't even seen the Tokai yet and already I regret buying it. ;) For some reason I thought because it had a set neck that it was one of the higher end models. Now that I've got my head staright again it seems I've "won" (I really hate that expression!) a regular FV-48 (alder body and maple neck) in beat-up condidion. Oh well!

I just know that some Customs pervert is currently fondling my new Strat while the delivery man is waiting with the V around the corner so he can try to deliver it as soon as I leave the house

    Eric Johnson Strat

Oh my god, I will not let you get away with this!

My team is on stand-by, ready to carry out an explosive entry into the customs office, and that perv will get two in the chest and one in the head and the EJ Strat will be mine mine mine!

    Ugh I'm so depressed. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

    Yep and its red.

Oh man, I just spotted this.

Go on, rub it in with your calm matter-of-factness!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Are you happy now, Johnny? You just wouldn't let it lie :D

Green guitar bodies dont really do it for me, but the neck really doesnt. Reminds me of the green furniture that one of the pizza shops in O'Connell street used to have once upon a time.

Thats gotta be the wildest fretboard ive seen yet (and ive seen a few).
I quite like it, but i think having the fretboard the same takes it a little too far.
