Andy not the best at cash games better tourney player me thinks, hard to know when we dont know what went on before at that table. But it looks reckless but at that level short handed u need to be super aggressive.

i watched the table for about 45 minutes before the hand happened, Andy was playing like a rock then BOOM out of nowhere this happens. Roland wasnt even doing anything weird before the hand either, just straight forward poker. Andys head just exploded i think.

Even Matusow was speechless, then he and Roland were actually trying to cheer Andy up. Andys quote was "Trying to keep you on your toes Mikey" :D

More meditation needed maybe? It was probably all profit anyhow.Back to the monasatery in a heap now?

i watched him on and off today, he seemed to be playing pretty passively.

here i guess he thought wolfe would give him credit for a set.

Some interesting strange bet sizing there ?
It certainly looks like Roland has pot committed himself with his 11K 2nd reraise although he is leaving circa 14K behind
I am not sure i have ever seen anybody after 4 betting 60% of there stack on the flop fold though so interesting time to make a move

I think there is a very fine line between a brilliant bluff and a donkey play - I suppose he was just unlucky that Roland was so strong.
It appears that he had waited a long time for this opportunity - just bad timing.

With reference to Roland being pot committed, this is definately not the case imo - i've seen folds for a hell of a lot less.

    ul Andy

If Roland believed that he was behind, say he was making a play with K rag, most certainly he would fold and salvage the 40% No??

...and yes i have seen the likes of clubber on tribecca 20/40 doing the above, putting in 80% + of his stack and folding to a RRAI...many times - trying big moves with no hand/no draw and folding 20k pots for 2k more OTF in the knowledge that they are beat.

There is a lot more to poker at this level than simple pot odds.

Maybe i'm just grumpy because i believe Andy is the best poker player to come out of Ireland IMO, it just bugs me when something goes wrong for the likes of him, there always appears to be a queue waiting to jump on his back.

i didnt post the thread to jump on his back, i love to see the man doing well. But surely Andy should have got out after Rolands second reraise? It seemed like a really tired, super quick move by Andy that had no real thought behind it, a momentary lapse of reason if you like :D

Oh and according to the highstakes.nu railbirds Andy was down 50k before the hand in question and had his entire FT roll on the table :(

Was railing Mike a few weeks ago. Might even have been last week. 3rd Possible according the highstakes.hu

He got well cleaned out. I think Dustin Dirksen did the most damage. He went down about 35+ on one table and 25 on another.
There was also some fellow who sat down with the min and left with about 42G!!
