I don't know whether I love or hate snow... I'm torn between admiring its prettiness and getting really fed up of the cold. Very rarely do people love and hate things with such equal intensity as the weather it seems.

There are a few half-assed flakes falling in Galway. Pretty and all, but my house is out of heating oil so I'm not looking forward to sleeping with my scarf on again tonight :(

No snow here... Well what do you expect from the tight arsed clouds in Cavan? :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

I expect most of ya's will be seeing some snow tonight.. especially thos in leinster and the Midlands... Dubliners should wake up to a good covering 2-4inches..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,986 ✭✭✭Red Hand

Well, round now, it should be ankle to shin deep in Mid-West USA. And In Dubland we get only a soup-skin thick layer of sleet on the ground. Grrrrrrr!

We should have 24+ inches by this time of the winter. We've only had 1.8 inches so far. But I'm not complaining! I hate the snow!!

Really? Thats odd, I was in Ranelagh at 8 this morning and there wasn't a speck of it.

Usually I love the snow, providing I've nowhere to be or if its something I don't have to necessarily attend. At the moment I'm working 9-5 and walk 35 mins to work so really hope it doesn't snow much (and I'm not waiting around for a bus, especially during the times its snowing as the traffic is an absolute nightmare), its bad enough that the pavement is quite slippy these mornings.

I know! thats whats made me all confused! like 2 cars had a good amount of snow on em! mabey he came from the northside, as it snowed there this morning!
Ah, did you mean it wasn't snowing on your way to school today? (You said it was in Ranelagh in the above post).

Yeah, saw a few cars covered in snow myself on my way through Ranelagh/Donnybrook/Ballsbridge, just presumed they came from the Northside or out of Dublin as there was little or no snow on the Southside last night...hopefully it'll stay that way too!

I like the fresh mornings, though they are a bit nippy, but if I've to slide across the slush all the way to work I won't be happy.

I did not see any snow this morning until i got to Finglas! None in the midlands though i heard we will get it tonight.
Like Ruu said in the midwest US its pretty heavy!! On the other side of Lake Michigan my inlaws said that Holland Michigan has such a bad snow storm that places are closing down and people are being told not to drive! Which for Holland means it must be bad since every time im there in winter its constant snow and its not inches deep its in feet!! They get snow called "lake effect" which means its very nice soft snow caused by Lake Michigan.

I am willing the snow to come to Co Louth with every fibre of my being. I love it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭Rb

Lol, Munster is the only place forecasted not to get snow :D

According to the weather forecast, its going to be 5-10cms of snow tomorrow...how much would warrant the day off work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,485 ✭✭✭Thrill

It's lashing rain here in cork at the moment. I doubt we'll get a sniff of snow.:(
