    Hi

I am looking for one of them all-in-one printers, I want it for normal black and white and some colour printer and for light fotocopying, better if it has fax as well. Needs to have pc-free copying and a screen to make a4 photocopies off books. Nothing too fancy, cheap and cheerful if you know waht I mean... Any recommendations as to any particular printer and anybody know places to buy cheap printers? Was looking at Argos' Lexmark P4350, aybody know it? Thanks!

lexmark ink is WAY too dear, get an epson (cheap clones carts) or a canon (cheap original carts)

I've got this. Works as a printer (black and colour), scanner, and photocopier. Don't think it can fax. Haven't had any problems so far (all of our previous printers seemed to just turn to sh*te once they got plugged in).

Not sure if that's what you're after

Thanks guys. Dave does it have a glass (screen?) to photocopy from book without putting the page THROUGH the machine? Bob I was going to just refill the cartridges but thanks for the info, did not realize :)

Were I photocopying in b&W ONLY I would get a small laser and then get a separate scanner .

I would then scan straight to the laser printer by programing the COPY button on the front of the scanner , very user friendly and can be used if computer and printer is simply switched on whether the person knows anything about computers or not

    see

    .

Totally agree with Sponge Bob here. The quality from the laser is far better and you don't get dried up ink cartridges. It is far more economival as well.

Those all in one yokes are gadgets.

    Here is a laser

    here is a scanner

scanner software will dump b&w scan to printer off the one button , no opening ms word and pressing print after every page is scanned

Thanks guys. Good advice there but I was only thinking of spending somewhere in the region of 75 euros, maybe a bit more. I also don't want to have 2 separate machines on the desk (v. small desk and all that). Plus i'm not going to use it so much that i could justify the price difference...

I appreciate the advice though ;)

The scanner is on the top, it has a glass "screen" yes. You don't have to put anything through the machine to photocopy; just put what you want copied onto the scanner, and press a single button -- then it just prints straight out. Very handy.

    I have the Canon MP180 - http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=30001&langId=-1&catalogId=10751&productId=751722&clickfrom=name

It doesn't have a fax, but is a good all-rounder. It's very handy to be able to copy something quickly without scanning it in, then printing it etc. It works without a computer for copying too, so good for the non-techies. Obviously if you're going to be doing a lot of copying, it's not the cheapest option because inkjets are pricy to run. I got it from Argos for 90 euro, but the price has gone up since. They also have the MP160 for cheaper.

dabs.ie are the cheapest I've seen for printers, but they charge for delivery. Vikingdirect.ie are worth checking too.

Dabs.ie have an all in one (no fax) at the moment - LINK.

Might not be what you are looking for but you can always have a trawl through their site. They are usually fairly reasonable with their prices. I think delivery would cost you about €13 - the delivery charges are posted up on their site

May be a bit late and again it might not be exactly what you want but Viking have this all in one printer including fax. You get free delivery and the promo also includes a free radio/cd player. Just remember that VAT is extra

Has anyone seen a laser-based all in one for a reasonable price?
