    HI Folks,
Was toying with idea of throwing up another dish that i have from past venture with single lnb for non 28E fooling around. I currently have twin on my 28E dish and don't feel like doing multi lnb.
My questions are: where can you get good price diseqc switch, are they easy to set up/use and lastly, can one output of my twin on 28E be inputed with output from single on other dish both into switch and work grand without affecting other output of twin on 28E?
    Hope this doesn't sound confusing.

Isn't satellite great, just when you get bored of messing, you can find some more setting up to be done!

Nearly anywhere. Get a 4 way, even if only having 2 LNBs now.

Doesn't work on Sky box at all (it sees 1st LNB). Easy to setup on nearly any other Satreciever

Put 28.2 on (1) so that if ever for any reason you connect a Sky box, it will work for Sky :)

I had a Dual with one copnnection going to Sky Digibox and other to Disqc. Then I added Quad and two more Digiboxes.

Now I have 4 x quattros and a Multiswitch with 16 outputs. Each output "looks" like a 4-Way Disqc to a receiver. Quattro (1) points at 28.2 so that Sky or Sky+ or SkyHD works on the distribution system.

Compare places listed in the Sticky. Maplin, Satellite.ie, HMSat Germany etc.

    Hi Folks,
Just joined the forum, and I'm trying to get up to speed on Satellite options. If I connect the Diseqc and the Quad LNB's as suggested, what are the main benefits?
Can I receive FTV channels form other sources than 28.2 (SKY) using the suggested configuration, tks!

have a look at this as well, http://www.xmediasat.com/shop/liste/001222223DBL/1.htm, again delivery costs are a bit high if your are only ordering this item

What delivery charges are they looking for? I think shipping on small items always seems disproportionate as most companies use a fixed fee (as i do) per box so a dish is probably around the same as a remote control. Still cheaper than using an post though unless you take a chance on regular post.

If you do get a 4x1 but are only using 2 LNBs, make sure to get terminators to cap off the unused inputs on the switch.

    Try Satcure or Brymer Satellite.
I have used both without problems.

I have used Global Communications 4X1 DiSEqC switches for many years and am very happy with the product.

Yes, but have your satellite receiver manual to hand when setting up the DiSEqC switch as some DiSEqC setup menus can be a little confusing initially.
(Remember DiSEqC is not activated / available on a Sky receiver.)

    No problem.

I'd agree that's important on a distribution amplifier, but had assumed that since each o/p is separate H/V and 22KHz that it did nothing if no 13V to 18V connected.

However it will stop the socket corroding. Why didn't I think of that?

www.satellite.ie aslo has sold them me in in the past. Maplin sometimes has them, but more often not or only a 2 way.

Also emp-centauri for 4 way and even more inputs (pretends to be a Disque motor!)

they seem to have a higher delivery charge for dishes but you are right, unless you are making a substantial order such as dish, lnb delivery charges work out disproportionate for smaller items
