Croke Park C&C's please

I was at a conference at Croke park today and remembered, this time, to bring my camera. Unfortunately the sun was out, yes I know it can be a pain sometimes, and the dynamic range was massive. I have done my best by doing a few different exposures through processing the RAW file to get something workable. I got a bit carried away with the dodging and burning while I was in the mood but it may have been a bit over the top. Please let me know what you think and have a look at the bigger copy on Flickr first. You can get to the bigger version by clicking on the picture here and clicking on "All Sizes" just over the pic on Flickr.

    Thanks.

    Fark!
The composition on the first one is amazing, absolutely loving it. Pity about the blown out clouds though they kinda ruin it.

i think in the first photo i would cut off the Hill so that the cusack stand is touching the border and the 2nd photo isn't quite symmetrical (or is it?! ive been studying all day so my eyes are a bit wonky at this stage) and i find it a bit distracting so maybe a bit of a crop? nice shots anyway!

The second shot looks like you're walking into a movie theatre :D ,the lighting is deadly
Like the line of the seats in the first shot and then the sweep of the stand.

I tried walking in there last summer to get some shots and was kindly asked to get lost.:o

My feelings exactly. I might be tempted to go off and find another sky ;)

I'll give that a lash later. Had to go to work for a couple of hours so not at home. Though I'm not really working, more keeping an eye out while a gang of youngsters enjoy themselves downstairs.

Lovely photo, can't wait till Sunday. One question I looked at the EXIF properties on Flickr and saw "Photometric Interpretation:2".
What the hell is Photometric Interpretation when it's at home??
    thanks

Not a clue :D I must google that one. I have overlapped three photos at different exposures from RAW. Maybe that's it. Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to google I go.

They're both good but the first is particularly good. Great viewpoint, the wide angle captures the sweep of the stands, I like the darkness of the Hogan stand side too, makes the scene look quite dramatic & imposing.

Wow, first one is really impressive!
Looks really pristine & perfect. The mirror to the left works really well too imho (in my humble opinion)!
    :)

2 great pictures there - well done. I love the look of the pitch in the first one - also the detail in the seats between the viewer and the grass - also alongside where you were standing when you took it. The colours too are fine though looking at the full size one I think the clouds look a bit too burned or something. Not in a big way mind - just on closer inspection I think that they look a little bit greyed where they should be white ?

Looking at the 2nd one on flickr its an excellent picture too - I love those symmetrical shots and the detail again is fantastic. I like the look of the netting in the picture - its easy to miss in the smaller sized. If I had taken it I might have brightened the foreground a smidge further - but thats a personal preference. I am pretty sure some sporting organisations (if not the croke park people themselves) could find a promotional use for these pictures if you wanted to market them (not that I would know how to go about that or anything !).

I see that the first of these is not only topical this afternoon but also has proven interesting to many on flickr
