Running Blisters

    Hi all,

Everytime I go an extended run on the threadmill (5k, speed 10 with an incline of 2) I seem to get blisters all along the insides of my feet, they seem to be in a nice Arc in the arc in my foot.

I thought they would go away after a while and that perhaps my feet were just soft and the training would toughen them up but its 3 months later and Im still getting them.

The runners I have are Omni Saucony which are really comfortable, supporting and a great fit. Ive ran my fingers all along the inside looking for any bumps or cuts but it all seems fine.

The socks I use are just general swear/sports socks I picked up in GreatOutdoors or Feetathlete or something, pretty standard really.

I just wonder should I have special running socks or something? or Should I be wearing some sort of bandage before I run?

    Hi Static ME,

Blisters under the arch of the foot is something I've come across a fair bit in other models of shoes. I haven't come across it with the Saucony Omni before, which we actually sell and is a very good shoe.

Is the blister under both arches or just one?

Socks can make a difference on friction blisters so typically is you're prone to blisters on the toes of the heel of your foot. Standard sports socks are made from cotton which absorbs water very easily water and friction is what causes most blisters. It might be worth getting a pair of technical running socks first to see if that makes a difference?

Did you get the shoes here (Amphibian King?) I know it's been 3 months but if the shoes aren't working and you got them here come back into us.

    Damian.

I got blisters along the arches or my feet once from a pair of asics. It turned out to be the insoles so I simply put a pair of my new balance one's in and things were fine.
