    I really hate to start new threads pimping other sites but i think this one is well worth it. As some of you probably know Ed Miller no longer posts on 2+2 but he does have his own site now. He answers questions,Analyses hands, does a Q/A every month and posts great articles in general on poker. The site is free of charge.

    http://www.notedpokerauthority.com/

    I often come across great threads on other sites or poker related articles that i think would be of use to other people but don't think they are worth starting another thread over.

    So maybe we could use this thread in the way the bonus whore thread works. If you comes across something you read which you think would be of interest to other people but don't feel it really needs a new thread for discussion you stick in here. (2+2 thread , funny post in a poker blog , good poker article , poker interview anything really.)

    So for example for all those people who wonder why people on this board keep telling them to stop open limping.

    http://www.notedpokerauthority.com/no-limit-hold-em/hand-discussion-2-my-thoughts.html

    Its also kinda self serving in that i am sure i miss loads of stuff on the web that i would enjoy reading but miss cause of the sheer volume of stuff out thier on poker at the moment. I tend to stick to this board and sections of 2+2.

    pfft... i must object...

    All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him. arrive at table, fumble a chip trick or two, look like a complete fish, then slow play your flopped straight flush!

    If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected. try not to clash with the table pro, he will destroy you. If your opponent is lloyd, put him on tilt by slowrolling. Weak is strong, strong is weak.

    Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys.
    Look on them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death
    dont piss away your chips, they are important. protect them, love them, KEEP THEM! (oddly this also advocates kidnapping, technically) :p

    the general who wins a battle makes many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought. The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that I can foresee who is likely to win or lose. he who understands pot odds will be profitable. he who pays attention will be profitable.

    It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on. if you can identify the leaks in your play, then your on the way to being a profitable player.

    there's also some insight into Omaha Hi/Lo
    In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it. don't play for just the hi or the lo, try to stack your opponents with hands that can win both pots.

    He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. pick your spots, go after the short stacks!

    The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him. put pressure on your opponents, dont let your opponent dictate all the play.

    We cannot enter into alliances until we are acquainted with the designs of our neighbors. only buy percentages of players who will pay up!

    To capture the enemy's entire army is better than to destroy it; if you have the nuts in a scalp game make sure you get all the villains chips in the pot, you dont want to leave him with half a small blind and miss out on his scalp chip.

    and finally, valuable insight into heads up play....
    The art of using troops is this:
    ......When ten to the enemy's one, surround him;
    ......When five times his strength, attack him;
    ......If double his strength, divide him;
    ......If equally matched you may engage him;
    ......If weaker numerically, be capable of withdrawing;
    ......And if in all respects unequal, be capable of eluding him,
    ..........for a small force is but booty for one more powerful

    Another twoplustwo car crash thread. It's an Q&A of someone who was an ex of David Sklansky, minor point being she was 16 at the time. It's been going over a month but just found it tonight. Gold!
