    Hi all

done a fresh install of xp to give me a clean install

kinda forgot about the media direct thing till i started using laptop again:)

the warranty with dell is thru my old job and i dont fancy going that route and i cant find the media direct install disc, has anybody a copy of this i could borrow or copy?

Also, to you guys/gals with MD3.0 knowledge. Can it be installed over an existing system or it must be a clean install starting from windows?

I have removed all my partitions and now i only have my windows partition and secondary drive.

On a recent laptop I wiped all the partitions and couldn't get media direct back on even with the free downloads from the Dell site. So have had the same problem.

A lot of machines don't seem to come with the CD, and Dell charge you for a new one. Last few machines that crossed my desk didn't have one but I have a new Dell laptop here atm with a CD called "For Reinstalling Dell MediaDirect 3". But I'm not sure if this allows a fresh install, or just a reinstall and needs the partition intact on the HD.

I don't have spare machine to try it on though. This isn't my laptop so I'm not going to muck about with it! Though I do intend reinstalling the OS to get rid of all the preinstalled junk.
