I checked there a week ago and the ones I was looking for were either two expensive or out of stock.

Suppose I'll just have to keep an eye on it

I picked up the philips DVP5960 for €99 in Dixons yesterday, it's gotten decent to good reviews on avforums and has a usb port for memory sticks and external hard disks. Can also be made region free from what i've read.

How much did the HDMI cable cost?

I got mine from a boardsie but I've seen them for a fiver on ebay so that's where i'll probably go for my others. Also play.com sometimes decent ones for about €15, although they're sold out at the minute.

One of the good thing about the philips is that it has component too.

Is it possible to get an upscaling DVD player that also plays DivX?

BTW, I saw that Phillips DVP5960 in Powercity for €79

EDIT: Just noticed that the Sony one Kearnsr linked to does Divx on CDR

Yeah, I have the Phillips DVP5960, 'tis pretty good, the USB key input is v. handy for transferring Divx/Xvid from your PC to the player.

The remote control has a poor signal though.

Sony DVPNS76 can be bought quite cheap and its a cracking player. I got mine last year from Peats for €150 with the multiregion mod.
